Northampton Lead Tailings Project, WA

thumbnail_Northampton Town

The Northampton Lead Tailings Project (NLTP) has seen the Western Australia State Government manage the remediation of lead tailings identified in the Northampton townsite, after 140 properties within the townsite were identified as being impacted by lead tailings. This is due to a former State Battery mine processing plant that had its lead waste stockpiled on a site on the outskirts of Northampton.

Structerre worked along side Merit Consulting Group, a WA based civil engineering and earthworks firm, who specialise in large scale remediation projects, to provide our dilapidations reports* for over 120 properties before any remediation works took place, as well as inspections after works for the removal of the toxic lead tailings.

** A dilapidation report is a report on the condition of a property at a given point in time. It records any existing damage, and the state of any particular aspects of the property that are likely to be affect by construction work, excavation or demolition.
