With over 100 businesses involved and spanning over 50 hectares, Perth Market City plays a critical role in the marketing and distribution of fresh produce in WA operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to meet the industry’s strong demands. A $20 million upgrade is being undertaken to upgrade and reinforce its position as a superior food industry precinct and further achieve their main focus of bringing “the best produce in the most efficient way possible, to every customer”.Features include further warehousing, a controlled site access plan, further development of a service precinct for scientific and quality assurance, as well incorporating an industry training facility.

 SC&I were commissioned to undertake a series of feasibility studies to identify engineering solutions involved in the expansion to Perth Market City. The Civil team submitted the initial study for a vehicle wash-down facility with a further study being performed for additional shade to the eastern buyers bay areas.

Each study comprised of three options, which covered details on services diversions and extensions, a review of infrastructure requirements and an indicative material and construction cost breakdown.
